On a sunslashed afternoon, Georgia Tech was able to defeat Georgia by a score of 12-9. After a slow start the Jackets were down 3-1 at the close of the first quarter. Behind a strong transition game and balanced scoring lead by Tim Peterson's three goals the Jackets stormed back and did not trail again. The lead swelled to as many as five before the Bulldogs were able to close to within three in the game's final minutes. With the win, the Jackets have won the SELC Southwest region for the fifth straight year. The Jackets will face the #2 seed from the Northwest, the Liberty Flames on Friday, April 20.
